Aerial & 3D Data

Drone Photogrammetry

Aircraft, calibrated imagery and structure-from-motion reconstruction into an accurate 3D model. Fast, safe and high coverage, which is why it is the right first tool on an open site and the wrong one in some specific conditions.

Typical accuracy · Typically ±30mm vertical on a well-flown open site with ground control, degrading over vegetation.

When you need it

  • →You need an accurate 3D model of an open site quickly.
  • →The area is too large or too uneven to walk in reasonable time.
  • →You want a design-grade surface model before groundworks start.
  • →Access to the ground is restricted or the ground is unsafe to enter.

What you get

  • 3D mesh and surface model in a usable coordinate system
  • Georeferenced orthomosaic
  • Point cloud for further processing
  • Ground control report with residuals
  • DEM and contour output where required

How it runs

  1. 01

Site reconnaissance, permission check and airspace assessment.

  2. 02

Ground control established and checked where accuracy demands it.

  3. 03

Flight planned and flown with overlap, then the imagery is processed.

  4. 04

Model checked against control, then issued with stated accuracy.

Questions we get asked

When is photogrammetry the wrong choice?

Under dense vegetation, on vertical or near-vertical surfaces that do not overlap, indoors, and where millimetre accuracy is required. On all of those, laser scanning is the better tool and we will tell you so.

Do you need permission to fly?

Yes. We check the airspace, obtain any required permissions, and confirm landowner permission before every flight. This is part of the job, not an extra.

Where we cover

Norfolk based, working nationwide. Site-based surveying, so distance is rarely the constraint.

Available across every region we cover.

Every town, district and borough we cover is listed in full on each region page. See the full service area.
