Aerial Inspection
Roof Surveys & Aerial Inspections
Roof condition without scaffolding, ladders or a handyman standing on a slope. Aerial imaging captures the whole roof surface at once, which finds the failures a close-up inspection misses and turns a guess into a record.
Typical accuracy · Defect location to approximately ±100mm from a controlled aerial survey, dependent on flight height and resolution achieved.
When you need it
- →A roof needs assessing but nobody should go near it yet.
- →You need condition evidence for an insurance claim or a sale.
- →Scaffolding costs more than the problem it would find.
- →A leak needs tracing to a location rather than a guess.
What you get
- Condition-graded roof plan with defect locations
- High resolution oblique and vertical imagery
- Defect schedule with severity and recommended action
- Measured areas of each roof plane
- Optional thermal layer for suspected heat loss or ingress
How it runs
- 01
Desk review of the roof type, access, height and any reported symptoms.
- 02
Flight planned for the resolution the inspection needs.
- 03
Capture with the light conditions the defect type requires.
- 04
Graded schedule issued with imagery references for every finding.
- Horizontal control
- ±10mm typical
- Vertical control
- ±8mm typical

Questions we get asked
Can a drone see a problem under a tile?
No. It sees the surface condition, deflection where the structure has moved, missing components and moisture signatures. Where a defect is suspected but not confirmed, we say so and recommend the close-up inspection that would confirm it.
Often needed alongside
Thermal & Insulation Inspection
Locate heat loss, failed insulation and water ingress before it spreads.
Drone Photogrammetry
Aerial reconstruction producing accurate 3D models and imagery.
Aerial Mapping & Orthomosaics
Georeferenced, distortion-free imagery from a single flight.
Measured Building Surveys
Measured floor plans for architects, conveyancing and party wall work.
